Elliot Mocton - Director

Elliot qualified as a solicitor in 2001 and has worked exclusively in legal costs since then. He established MRN in the same year, and has been closely involved at every stage of the firm’s development and growth.

As Director, Elliott’s role includes business development and the overall supervision of MRN’s service quality and delivery. In addition, he is regularly involved in the presentation of seminars and training events, both in-house and externally.

Michael Joseph - Head of Client Care and Business Development

Michael joined MRN at its inception in 2001 and, as Head of Client Care and Business Development, has been instrumental in building the client portfolio to well over 300 firms, including many nationally recognised practices.
 
Michael oversees client care across the business, ensuring that both fee earners and partners at every level are guided and supported throughout the costs process. As well as managing his own ADR caseload, he dedicates his time to meeting and communicating with clients and ensuring they that take full advantage of the services provided by MRN.

Our team includes members of the Association of Legal Costs Draftsmen, who are extensively experienced not only in the legal costs presentation but also in advanced negotiating techniques. Our fee earners are specially trained to capitalise on our clients’ positions of strength and exploit our opponents’ positions of weakness.

Our draftsmen have an array of experience from dealing with cases in the House of Lords, Supreme Court Costs Office down to the local County Courts to attend summary assessments. They have access to a comprehensive library of case law, which is used effectively both in preparing formal documentation and during hearings.

By bringing together people from varied backgrounds we have forged a team that can meet any challenge. Team members are experienced in representation from both claimant and defendant perspectives, enabling negotiations to be conducted insightfully and effectively.
