MRN has created this privacy statement because we take your privacy seriously.  The statement sets out, who we are, what information we collect from you, and how we use it.

General

MRN is a company that provides Legal services to its clients.  MRN collects personal information about you during your use of our website and services and through our cookie technology as you use and navigate our website.

If you provide us with personal information (your name, postal/DX address, telephone, fax, or email address), or have done so in the past, via our websites, our publications or surveys, we may use that information to send you legal costs, information on our latest services and promotions or to contact you so that we may learn more about our clients.

We may use your data to collate and create an information database of visitors to our website in order to improve our website and our service and to provide relevant services and information to you.  We will not share individual data with third parties.

Retention of personal information

We will retain your information for such period as we are legally obliged to keep it or for the period necessary for the purposes for which the data was collected or for which it is to be processed further, whichever is the longer.

Holding your personal information – Opt In, Unsubscribe & ‘Right to be Forgotten’

Protection of your personal information

We are concerned about guarding the security of your personal information and the details of any transactions.  We take appropriate organisational and technical security measures to protect your data against unauthorised disclosure or processing. We use a secure server to store the information you give us when you register.

Disclosing of information

We do not disclose any personal information obtained about you from this website to third parties except when we need to do so in order to complete an instruction you have sent via the website or client portal – e.g. when arranging for a courier company to collect and deliver files that you have requested. We may also use the information to keep in contact with you and inform you of developments associated with our business. You will be given the opportunity to remove yourself from any mailing list or similar device. If at any time in the future we should wish to disclose information collected on this website to any third party, it would only be with your knowledge and consent.

We may from time to time provide information of a general nature to third parties – for example, the number of individuals visiting our website or completing a registration form, but we will not use any information that could identify those individuals.

Any personal information we hold about you is stored and process under our data protection policy which is available on request and in line with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Use of third party services

We are partnered with third party data processors Mailchimp, including analytics services from Google Analytics, to help understand your usage of our services. In particular, we provide a limited amount of your information (such as your email address and sign-up details) to select third party services to collect data for analytics purposes when you visit our website or use our products and services. This allows us to monitor your use of our website and client portal and tracks our relationship so that we can improve our service to you. We may also use these third party services for communications, either through email, or through messages within our products and services. As part of our service agreements, these third party services may collect publicly available contact and social information related to you, such as your name, email address, gender, company, job title, photos, website URLs, social network handles and physical addresses, to enhance your user experience.

How we use personal data

Personal data is used for the following purposes: (i) to provide, administer and improve our services, (ii) to better understand your needs and interests, (iii) to fulfill requests you may make, (iv) to personalise your experience, (v) to provide service announcements and (vi) protect, investigate and deter against fraudulent, harmful, unauthorised or illegal activity.

Data Breach Process

The Data Protection Controller Rebecca Abeles has a process in place in the event of a breach. Depending on the severity of the breach the DPO will self-report to the Information Commissioner’s office within 72 hours of breach coming to light.
