Rachel Burt
COSTS DRAFTSPERSON - PAYING PARTY
HOUSING DISREPAIR
Rachel brings over a decade of legal and specialised costs experience to MRN’s Housing Disrepair team. After completing the LPC in 2011 and gaining valuable foundational experience as a litigation assistant, Rachel dedicated nine years to a major national law firm, progressing from a Law Costs Draftsman to a qualified Costs Lawyer and Deputy Team Leader. Following a recent career break, Rachel joined MRN in February 2026.
Having spent years handling clinical negligence, catastrophic injury, RTA and industrial disease cases for both receiving and paying parties (including for a major corporate insurer), she possess a 360-degree understanding of the costs landscape. At MRN, Rachel is dedicated to ensuring that clients only ever pay costs that are strictly reasonable and proportionate.
Outside of Work Rachel is a busy parent who can usually be found running after her young children or driving them to after-school activities. When she finds a spare moment for herself, she enjoys running (having completed the Worcester Half Marathon) and catching up with her local book club.
