Heather Rodgers
Trainee Costs Draftsman
Court of Protection
Heather joined MRN in September 2025 as a Trainee Costs Draftsman within the Court of Protection team. She has recently completed the CLC Level 4 Diploma in Probate Law & Practice with Access Law Online.
Before joining MRN, Heather spent over three years working as a Legal Assistant in a Private Client department, where she completed an apprenticeship, gained her Diploma in Law, and was nominated as a Rising Star at the 2024 Modern Law Awards. During this time, she managed her own caseload and supported clients across a variety of matters.
At MRN, Heather’s work involves reviewing client files, drafting Bills of Costs for submission to the Senior Courts Costs Office (SCCO), and advising clients throughout the process. She plays a key role in ensuring that clients who manage the affairs of vulnerable individuals under Deputyship orders are fairly compensated for their work. Passionate about Court of Protection costs, she values attention to detail and providing an attentive, client-focused service.
Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her three dogs. She also loves singing, music, and reading. One of her proudest personal achievements is purchasing her first home in the North Yorkshire countryside at just 20, which she’s enjoyed transforming into her own.
